It’s important to recognize that fear manifests in many different forms. It is sometimes that heart-pounding, sweat-producing anxiety but more often fear is a quiet presences. Quiet fear can displays itself as procrastination. If you were to analyze your procrastination, you may realize that it is actually an excuse and behind every excuse is a fear we’re not facing. Procrastination starts to become our defense against fear, our way of keeping discomfort at bay and remain rooted to our comfort zones. We avoid failure and frustration, but we also lose the energy that comes from expanding our boundaries and finding our true life's path.
Therefore, our goal should not be to learn avoidance of fear (because fear lies at the edges of our boundaries, just beyond our comfort zones). The goal is to tap into the energy fear can provide us in order to extend what we are capable of accomplishing. That is what turns normal perseverance into extraordinary growth potential.
So we encourage you to embrace fear for the growth potential it provides. #FearLESS Friday
