2022 Cher Explores the Power of Healthy

"He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything." - Arabian proverb

Hey there - It’s CHER!  Time to share my 2022 "Word of the Year" - - - My word will be HEALTHY.

Now, when people think of the word “healthy,” they typically have a vision or an expectation in their heads. Most equate “healthy” with having the perfect body or being a certain weight.

I see health as central to happiness and well-being but defining exactly what health means is a very individual and complex thing.  While one person might consider being healthy to mean free from disease, another can define it as being able to run a marathon, or to live a sober/drug free life.

To me being healthy means prioritizing my physical and mental wellbeing.

I spent a larger amount of 2021 struggling with some form of physical pain, illness, or mental lapse.  I did my best to hide these struggles (so many reading this blog might be surprised by that statement) but let me assure you the struggle was/is real, and it has taken a toll. I am ready to get off that unwell track.

That is why I have selected HEALTHY as my 2022 word-of-the-year.

And again, my selection of this word is not just about exercising and eating healthy, while important, this not at the core of what it means to me to live a healthy life.

I will be utilizing this WOTY to remind me of the following:
  1. SAY NO to an overloaded schedule
  2. Engage in something that brings me JOY
  3. Embrace the benefits of living a PHYSICAL LIFE (no more sitting at my laptop ALL day)
  4. Put down my phone and truly CONNECT with the people in my life.
  5. NURTURE my body not with just superficial “self-care” but with true physical and emotional well-being.
So, this is the year I will make a consistent effort (consistent was my 2021 WOTY) to be healthy. And, even if I don’t succeed 100% of the time, I'm positive the act of trying will provide positive results.

Wish me luck and stay tuned for how it all plays out.
