At last night's Sister Talk, we had the privilege of learning about Mindful Eating from Veronica Ramirez (Transformational coach/Nutrition Business owner) who shared this delicious nugget with our Herd:
"Our bodies have the answers…they know what works for us. We just need to listen"
Guess that puts us in the driver seat for how we feel. Not doctors, gurus, or medicines. Yes, others can be partners in helping us but ultimately, it is on us.
If we really listen to how our body feels and act to make it feel its best, we would be much further along. The reality is that every person reacts differently to food and it is on us to understand that relationship.
- To start small when embracing mindful eating. Something as simple as pausing between bites, adding more water to your daily habits, or starting each day with a piece of fruit.
- Don’t be afraid to try new things.
- When shopping, keep in mind that the less ingredients the better (even better if you can pronounce them all)
- Get family to embrace healthy & mindful eating by making it fun
We are so grateful to Veronica for imparting so much wisdom with us while peppering it with realness and humor.
