On this #ThankfulTuesday, let’s take a moment to appreciate the power of gratitude. When we choose to be thankful for the people, opportunities and/or circumstances in our life, we are not focusing or giving any energy to the negative. Skies seem a little bluer, smiles come more easily to our faces, and we tend to react less when we take time to appreciate all the goodness in our lives. And no matter what is going on in our lives, there is always goodness.
How can we actively develop and practice an attitude of gratitude? My favorite way is maintaining a gratitude journal. It's easy and takes only a few peaceful moments a day. I strive to be thankful for 4-5 specific things per day. It can be as simple as “I am so thankful I got that ideal parking spot at Cosco!” Admittedly, some days finding things to be grateful for can be tough but other days, I can go on for pages.
I have to add that there is just something about writing that makes this practice particularly effective for me. It leaves a little indelible imprint on my soul whereas my thoughts can be fleeting and forgotten
Do you already keep a gratitude journal? Great! Please share with our community if this helps you in any way. If you don’t, why not give it a try? If taking pen to paper is not your thing, why not use your social media and spark a gratitude revolution? Need some inspiration? There are some great online gratitude journals such as welovegratitude.com or onlinegratitudejournal.com where you can post publicly or privately.
How is this as a start… Can everyone leave one gratitude statement below? I would be so THANKFUL if you did!
