Hiya Herd,
We want to talk to you about creating space in your very busy lives. That’s been a hot topic for us this past spring. For those of you who don’t know us personally, Cher and I are both moms to active children and we also have day jobs that pay the bills, relationships that need tending, other demands and responsibilities.
In all of my juggling, I personally realized that it was time for me to let go of some things so I can focus on what I really want which is building Inspired Elephant with Cher.
Don’t get me wrong, my life has other components that I really enjoy. For example, for the past few years, I have happily volunteered on the marketing team for our local Farmers market by writing and coordinating weekly newsletters and press releases. I LOVE collaborating with my farmers market team. I BELIEVE in supporting our local farmers. I LOOK FORWARD to shopping at the farmers market. It was a Trifecta of volunteer activities! However, when I looked longingly at Inspired Elephant’s own newsletter and the list of initiatives and goals we had set for the year, I had to make a difficult choice and let it go.
Obviously, I’ll still support the farmers market and share their social media posts but this decision was not only conveyed to my fellow volunteers it was sent out to the Universe. And guess what? The Universe heard me. Here’s what happened next!
In a casual conversation about an adult yoga and mindfulness retreat that I was considering attending with a friend, I mentioned that Inspired Elephant offers a variety of workshops along these lines. That’s right! I planted the seed and guess who is leading a Vision Board Workshop for their upcoming retreat? Yours truly, baby. Wanna come? Sign up right here!
Do you see what I did? I created the space for growth and change in my life. There was no space before. My life was a virtual clown car of responsibilities, obligations, hopes, dreams and endless to-dos.
Growth can only happen when it is given the space to do so.
So growth inevitably involves letting go of something…maybe many things. And it may not even be the thing you really want to give up – like laundry. Unfortunately, that still has to happen.
So we are asking you, what can you let go of so as to create the space for more of what you want in your life? We are quite literally on the brink of summer. Don't you want to spend it doing more of what you love and value? Please comment below. We want to hear from you!
XO,
Carolyn & Cher
