“What I do every day matters more than what I do once in a while.” – Gretchen Rubin

Hey there -  It's CHER!  My turn to give you the low down on my 2021 "Word of the Year"

I’ve heard and read so much about how: Consistency is key!

BUT here is my typical new year routine…
  • I set a goal (start working out, or drink more water or eat healthy or grow my business, etc.)
  • I start off strong (super happy and motivated and doing great for 2-3 weeks)
  • THEN one day I just can’t do it or didn’t feel like it (tell myself it’s a pause but nope it turns into a full stop.)
  • Discouraged, I fall back into comfortable old habits (guess I do that consistently)  :-)

Sounds familiar?

“Success doesn't come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently.”  - Marie Forleo

We all know that there isn’t a successful person out there that wasn’t consistent in their vision and actions to achieve their goals. So, why do so many of us struggle with staying consistent?

This year I’m determined to learn firsthand the power of CONSISTENCY.   So, that is my word for 2021.

So far, I am about three weeks into the goal, and I can already tell you that being consistent takes a lot of self-discipline and courage.

I can also assure you that for most of us there is NO 100% consistency.  Just keeping it real.

With this in mind, I am not striving for 100% consistency, to then beat myself up for every little time I may get off track.  I am human and I know that I will fall off a little bit here and there.

What this year is about is the determination to get myself back on track QUICKLY.

Let’s say I’m aiming for a 90 or 95% consistency. The goal being to get back on track, learn from setbacks, and focus on being more consistent after that.

So this is the year I will make a consistent effort in all areas of my life. And, even if I don’t succeed 100% of the time I'm positive the act of trying will provide positive results.  Wish me luck and stay tuned for how it all plays out.
