Welcome Change - A Message From the Universe

Hello Herd!

The Universe communicates in all sorts of ways - thru friends, books, nature... even throw pillows!
Picture
a week ago, I found myself on my back patio, taking in the morning when I took note of the throw pillows on my patio love seat.

I didn't buy these throw pillows together. In fact, I bought them about a year apart, and I don't always have them set up as I did that morning.

Pineapple is an iconic fruit symbolizing welcome, and a dragonfly's symbolic significance is connected to change or transformation.

Welcome. Change.

At first, I understood the message to be a welcome change. But then it hit me. It was a directive aimed at me. Welcome change.

Change is definitely in the air. Look all around! Here in the Northeast, we are surrounded by beautiful fall foliage in brilliant hues of amber and crimson, and colorful, cascaded leaves blanket the ground. And in the US, we just emerged from a heated election with a new President-elect and the first-ever woman of color as Vice President-elect.

Welcome change, indeed.

I am in a new home with a blended family. Change is pretty much my middle name these days! Some days, like in that moment on a quiet, crisp, fall morning, I can take it in and revel in it. Other days, I find it more challenging.

As I reflect on all the change that is transpiring in my life, regardless if it's welcome or not, going through change brings me to new heights. It forces me to grow and expand, and I emerge feeling stronger, yet softer than before. Softer because as my strength grows, so does my compassion. Life's trials and tribulations are not necessarily unique to me. Going through change gives me perspective and empathy for others going through something similar.

This year has been chock full of change for all of us - much of it unwelcome like wearing masks and quarantining, having our children be schooled virtually, or not being able to see loved ones far away.
It's not over yet. The holidays are coming, and these holidays will likely not resemble ones past: Thanksgiving on zoom, quiet Christmas at home, no holiday travels. And soon after that, we'll have a new presidential administration leading this country with the hopeful promise of even more change.
  • What will you do with the change presented to you?
  • Can you let go of what things are supposed to look like? Of how they used to be?
  • Can we try to embrace a new way of being, celebrating, and living?
  • And perhaps more importantly, can we cut ourselves and everyone else some slack as we navigate these changes? We'd love to unpack this topic further with you. Please comment below to keep the conversation going. Chances are that what you are struggling with, others are too; what you want to talk about, others do also; and what you are even hopeful or excited about, others will be as well.

Thanks for letting us inspire you and allowing us to ride the waves of change alongside you. Our appreciation of you is one thing that will never change!

Love,

Carolyn
