- Be grateful for what you have – you may not have it all but you’ve got what you need.
- Find a source of awe in each day – yes, you can do this even while stuck at home. Witnessing a small act of kindness between siblings, catching the sunrise, or cuddling a faithful pet. Miracles are all around you. Look for them!
- Reach out to someone - Need a break? Instead of scrolling your social media to find out how others are doing, go through your contacts, make a call, and make someone’s day. It’s nice to be thought of!
- Do something for yourself – even if it’s just taking a solo walk. There is nothing selfish about caring for yourself.
- Channel your inner Elsa – when a negative thought takes root in your mind, LET IT GO! Sing it loud and proud, if you have to. Elsa became way less angsty and way more bad-assy when she did. Give it a try!
- Live for today – you only have right now. It is the only time that matters. Don’t miss it lamenting yesterday and stressing over tomorrow. Enjoy the now.
- De-clutter – Of course this made the list! Clean out your junk drawer, tidy up your desk or closet. When you put external things in order, your mind and heart will also function in a more orderly fashion. Check out our upcoming Sister Talk on this one! Click here to save your seat.
- Donate – this goes hand-in-hand with #7. Just make sure items are in good condition. Donating old, worn things is not very helpful or caring to others and won’t feel as good to you.
- Quit feeling sorry for yourself – everyone’s got some struggle. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond. Take comfort that you have control over the 90%. Onward and upward!
- Set a goal – whether it’s exercise, eating healthier, becoming the Boggle champ of your household – write it down, place it on your vision board and let the manifesting begin!
- Breathe – when stressed, breathing tends to become shallow contributing to increasing cortisol levels. Take a beat to inhale and exhale slowly and deeply. After a few minutes of this, you’ll accomplish more and feel less stressed.
- Take a quick inventory of comforting things around you – the pictures on your desk, favorite candle, pet curled up on the couch, the trees in bloom outside your window, your music playlist. Wherever you are, there are reminders of your fortune. Be willing to see them.
- Smile :) – even if it’s gray and rainy, look for reasons to smile. Try smiling at yourself in the mirror (and I dare you not to laugh!)
- Get outside – OF THE HOUSE!!! Nature has a calming effect. A 10 minute walk can do wonders for your focus and energy levels. Bogged down with calls and meetings? Make it a walking meeting!
- Get outside – OF YOURSELF!!! Too much thinking and internalizing can make you dull and self-centered. Lift up your chin and be an overcomer. Talk it out with someone. Even if it’s it your pup.
Now it’s your turn.
